    Here at Rivermark Dental, we love meeting new patients. Part of easing your concerns is explaining what you can expect from our practice. When you are new to our office, we put in the effort to provide you with a positive and comforting experience. Once you have been with us for a while, you can continue to expect the highest level of service. We focus on providing quality dental care, excellent customer service, and a relaxing environment to maintain a lasting patient relationship. We consider your first visit the start of a long-term relationship with you.

    During your initial appointment, we will perform various tests to assess the condition of your oral health and to create a dental plan based on your unique, individual needs. We look forward to meeting you!

    Your First Visit

    Here at Rivermark Dental, we are dedicated to keeping you informed and want you to know what you can expect during your first visit with us.

    The first appointment consists of a consultation. We will review your current situation, explain your diagnosis, and cover your treatment options.

    You will want to bring the following information with you to the consultation appointment:

    • Your referral slip and X-rays if applicable
    • A list of any medications you are taking
    • Any known allergies or medical conditions
    • Medical or Dental insurance to be filed

    Occasionally treatment can be done the same day as the consultation. However, complex treatment plans or complicated medical histories will require evaluation and a second appointment for treatment. Please let the office know if you have a medical condition that may be a concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves or joints, rheumatic fever, or blood disorders).

    If you’ve had X-rays taken in the last six months, please have your dentist forward them to us. If there is not enough time to get them to us prior to your appointment, please make arrangements to pick them up and bring them with you to the appointment.

    A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18.

    Financial Information

    Rivermark Dental is committed to giving you specialized care at a reasonable fee. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. As a courtesy to our patients who have dental insurance, we will complete and submit your claim to your insurance carrier for you.

    We will make every effort to estimate your costs before your visit so that you can be prepared. Payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

    Most insurance companies respond within four to six weeks, and you will receive a monthly statement.

    You are responsible for all fees not covered by insurance. If additional tests are needed such as lab work or a biopsy, you will be billed directly by those providers and will be responsible for submitting payment directly to them.

    Your prompt payment is appreciated. Payment arrangements may be considered if discussed in advance of treatment.

    Making an Appointment

    It is easy to make an appointment for your initial examination and dental treatments with Rivermark Dental. Simply call 408-648-4788 and one of our friendly team members will be happy to assist you. If you schedule an appointment and something comes up, please call and cancel 24 hours in advance so that we can accommodate other patient requests.

    What to Expect

    Walk into our lobby where you will be greeted by our friendly team. We will provide you with new patient paperwork that includes a health questionnaire, request for your insurance information and contact information. We will also provide you with information to familiarize you with our office and how we handle things like patient privacy.

    Initial Examination

    Your initial dental exam will take around one hour. The experienced team at Rivermark Dental will ask you questions, get to know your oral hygiene routine, and listen to your health concerns. We believe in educating patients and empowering them to make good choices to improve their oral health. We will demonstrate how to properly care for your teeth and make additional suggestions as needed. Our dental hygienist will clean your teeth then Dr. Christine Y. Lee will complete your examination and make recommendations for proposed dental treatments.

    Pain Concerns

    We work to ensure our patients feel comfortable, and that includes minimizing their pain as much as possible. If you are undergoing a dental procedure, Dr. Christine Y. Lee will meet with you to discuss your pain tolerance and create a plan for pain management. Working together, we will treat your dental health problems in a way that minimizes pain and enables you to get back to your life faster.

If your dental insurance will not cover all of your dental treatments, we will work with you to identify a payment solution. We are health care professionals first and will work with you to make sure you receive the treatment you need.
